1． ヤコブの考えた7年計画
「しばらく」（創27：44）
ラバンのヤコブへの提案 （15節）
- ヤコブが甥としてではなく、雇人/奴隷として滞在することを示唆した提案。
姉レアと妹ラケル (16節)
- 繊細に判断してレアの優しい目に気づくよりも、感覚的な判断においてラケルに魅了された？(18〜20節)
- アブラハムの僕がイサクの妻を見つけたとき（創世記24章）
- アブラハムのしもべがこだわったことは、外見の美しさではなく、信仰と、イサクの妻となる女性の「立ち居振る舞い」だった。
- 最後まで神のなさろうとしておられることを見る、慎重な判断の態度（創24：21）
ヤコブの考えた7年計画
一夫多妻制が認められていた時代ではあったが・・・
なぜ、ヤコブはこんな境遇に置かれたのか？
2. 主による鍛錬
ヤコブは、自分の祝福にこだわって、自力でそれを得てきた。
今や、今や、欺いた者が欺かれ、兄を出し抜く者が、妹よりも姉を先にするように強いられている。
- 彼も最も弱い部分が試みられている。

ヘブライ人への手紙12：5〜14
神様は、ヤコブのように、時に、自分のした失敗の結果を、反対の視点から見るように招かれることもある。
- そうやって私たちは主に扱われ、ヤコブがそうだったように、その訓練の中で少しずつ変えられていくという恵みにあずかる。

1. Jacob’s Plan of Seven Years
“for a while” (Gen. 27:44)
Laban’s suggestion to Jacob (v.15)
- Laban is asking Jacob to stay not as a nephew but as a servant/slave.
Leah and Rachel (v.16)
- Instead of sensitively getting aware of
Leah’s delicate eyes, Jacob was attracted in a more sensuous way? (v.18-20)
- Compare that with the moment when
Abram’s servant found Isaac’s wife in Gen. 24.
- Abram’s servant was concerned with not a physical beauty but the faith
and attitudes as a future wife of Isaac.
- Prudent attitude to see what God is
doing until the end (Gen. 24:21)

Even if it was the time polygamy was admitted…
Why was Jacob placed in such a
circumstance?

Discipline by God
Jacob was concerned with his blessings
and obtained that by his own strength.
The deceiver is now deceived himself.
The one who got the jump on his older brother is forced to put an older
sister first above her younger sister.
- Jacob’s weakest part is tested.
John 15:2 Cutting back the
branches Process of Sanctification
Like Jacob, God sometimes calls us to
see our own failure from the other side.
- This way, we are molded by the Lord.
And like Jacob, we are transformed little by little in discipline.
