使徒言行録の後半は、パウロを中心に、イエス様の福音が宣べ伝えられて、各地に教会が生み出されていくという展開でした。しかし、聖書はその後のパウロの活動については全く沈黙しています。なぜ使徒言行録の著者であるルカは、その後のパウロについて、何も記していないんでしょうか。ルカは、パウロの最後を知らなかったんでしょうか。それとも、何か大きな理由が、大切な意図が、ルカにはあったのでしょうか。
使徒言行録が未完な理由――それは、使徒言行録には、「続きがあるから」なんです。使徒言行録は28章で終わります。けれども、神の国を宣べ伝え、イエス様を教え続ける私たちの歩みは、これに続くのです。・・・使徒言行録29章。それを、私たちの水戸キリストの教会もこの地にあって、62年間書き続けてきた。そこには、パウロやペトロと同じように、私たち一人一人の名が、私たちの信仰の歩みが記されているのです。しかし、それ以上に忘れてはならないことは、その働きは、このような弱い私たちをも通して働いてくださる、聖霊なる神様の働きなのだ。そう思います。

“Acts 29 and Beyond” Acts
28:17-31

Until the chapter of Acts 28, we are totally engaged
in the story line. Paul has miraculously survived a shipwreck. He has been
bitten by a snake and survives. He heals people and then continues
his travel to Rome. He is able to speak to the
Jews in Rome and explain Christianity in
the context of the Scriptures. Paul is in a rented house boldly
proclaiming the message of the Kingdom of God and the book suddenly
ends.
Why did Luke end the story like that? Didn’t he know the
details of what happened to Paul? Or did Luke know but didn’t write
intentionally? Did he have a bigger reason behind?
The book of Acts ends with chapter 28. But our work to
proclaim the Gospel of the Kingdom and witness Christ continues.
Acts chapter 29 & beyond! The story of God has continued in
Mito
for 62 years. And as well as the name of Paul and Peter, each of our
name is recorded on the pages of eternity. But more than that, we
should not forget it’s the work of the Holy Spirit that is working
in our lives.

イエス様は、「弁護者をあなたたちのところに送る」と、そう約束してくださいました（15節）。弁護者、すなわち、「聖霊様」のことです(26節)。「私は今までもあなたがたと一緒にいたけれども、やがて十字架と復活を通して、今まで一緒にいた時以上に、もっと深い交わりをもって一緒にいるよ」、そういう約束です。
聖霊、原語のギリシア語では、「パラクレートス」です。「パラ」は「そばに」、「クレートス」は「カレオーkaleo(呼ぶ)」という動詞から来ていますので、その意味は、「そばに呼び寄せられた方」。つまり、「そばに来て、一緒にいてくれる方」。「そばにいて助けてくれる方」、という意味です。私たちは、それが実現した新約の時代を生きていますから、この約束を信じて、イエス様といつも一緒にいるという喜びのうちに生きていくことができます。
「二人または三人がわたしの名によって集まるところには、わたしもその中にいるのである。」（マタイ18:20）
私たちが一つとなっている教会に、イエス様がいっしょにいて下さる。私たちが、神様が真ん中におられる交わりを経験する時には、「心の満腹」とでもいうべきものを体験する。逆もしかりですね。人間の心は、閉じこもってしまうなら、永遠に空っぽのままです。しかし、交わり、とりわけ、神様との交わりの中では、心は生き生きとしてくるんです。
この人生の旅路は、必ずしも順風満帆な時ばかりではありません。でも、一人じゃない。一人では生きていけないのです。いっしょに、歩んでいきましょう。イエス様が、共に歩んで下さいます。今週も外は寒いですけれども、だからこそ私たち、手と手をとりあって共に暖め合いながら、神様を見上げながら歩んでいきたいと思います。

promised to give us the Advocate (v. 15).
That is the Holy Spirit (v.
26). “I have been with you until now. Through the cross and resurrection, I
will be even closer
with you than before.” That’s what he promised. The Holy Spirit -- The
original
Greek word is “Parakletos.”
'Para' means
'alongside' and '
kletos' means 'to call.' So, literally
speaking,
parakletos is “the one who is called to be alongside.” In other words, the Holy Spirit is
“the one who comes alongside and be together
with us” or “the one who is
alongside and helps us.” We live in the New
Testament period that promise is realized, so we
believe in this promise and live with joy we are always together
with Jesus. Jesus is always with us. That’s the foundation of the
Christianity,
isn’t it? Always together
with
God.
“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” (Matthew
18:20)
When we are united,
Jesus is with us. As we experience the fellowship where God dwells in our midst, we experience the fulfillment of our heart. On the other hand, when our heart is withdrawn
into our shell, we feel empty forever. But within fellowship, especially
within fellowship with God, our heart is fulfilled and
shines again!
The life
journey we
walk is not always smooth sailing. But we are not
alone. We cannot
live alone. Let us walk together. And
Jesus is walking
with us together. It
may be cold outside again this week. but the colder outside is, the closer we can
hold our hands together, and
we can warm each other. Let’s look up God and walk together
this week!
