恒枝　篤史兄　「神とその恵みの言葉とにあなたがたをゆだねます」

使徒言行録20:17〜38

第三次伝道旅行では、パウロはほとんどエフェソの教会にいました。３年の歳月をエフェソで過ごす訳ですが、エフェソの教会の長老たちを呼んで、パウロが行った説教が今日の18節からの説教です。

25節を見てください。

「そして今、あなたがたが皆もう二度とわたしの顔を見ることがないとわたしには分かっています。」

そして、この説教の後、３６節〜38節によると、「このように話してから、パウロは皆と一緒にひざまずいて祈った。人々は皆激しく泣き、パウロの首を抱いて接吻した。特に、自分の顔をもう二度と見ることはあるまいとパウロが言ったので、非常に悲しんだ。」とあります。

この説教は、パウロの、エフェソの教会での、最後を締めくくる説教となりました。いわゆる、パウロの「告別説教」なんですね。この告別説教を読んでいて、今回不思議に思ったことがありました。それは、32節の言葉です。パウロは、「そして今、神とその恵みの言葉とにあなたがたをゆだねます。」と言っている。これで会うのが最後になるかもしれない。だから、「神様にあなたがたをゆだねます」、というところまでは、わかる。でも、「神の言葉にゆだねる」というのが、よくわからない。今日は、パウロの言う、「神とその恵みの言葉とにゆだねる」とはいったいどういう意味なのか、皆さんと共に考えてみたいと思います。

“I commit you to God and to the word of his grace”  Acts 20:17-38

In the 3^rd missionary journey, Paul stayed his most of time in Ephesus. He spent there for 3 years. He called elders of Ephesian church, and preached. That is his sermon in Acts 20:17-38.

This sermon became the last message for Paul in Ephesus. In verse 32, Paul says “Now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace.” This could be the last chance to see them, so he said, “I commit you to God.” I understand that part. But “I commit you to the word of his grace.” I was not really sure about that part. Today, I’d like to study with you what it means by “I commit you to God and to the word of his grace."

「尊くすばらしい約束」　2ペトロ1:3〜8

私たちクリスチャンは、しばしば信仰生活を恵みとしてよりも、重荷や義務のように思ってしまうことはないでしょうか。神様が約束して下さった素晴らしい約束を見逃してしまうことはないでしょうか。

しかし、聖霊様は、使徒ペトロを通してこのように語っています。2ペトロ1:3-4によると、

「主イエスは、御自分の持つ神の力によって、命と信心とにかかわるすべてのものを、わたしたちに与えてくださいました。それは、わたしたちを御自身の栄光と力ある業とで召し出してくださった方を認識させることによるのです。この栄光と力ある業とによって、わたしたちは尊くすばらしい約束を与えられています。それは、あなたがたがこれらによって、情欲に染まったこの世の退廃を免れ、神の本性にあずからせていただくようになるためです。」

ここで言っているのは、私たちがまだこの地上にあるうちに、神のご性質にあずからせていただける。この素晴らしい恵みを、神の力によって与えられていると言っています。パウロは別の箇所でも、同じことを語っています。

「神の満ちあふれる豊かさのすべてにあずかり、それによって満たされるように。」（エフェソ3:19）

「キリストの満ちあふれる豊かさになるまで成長するのです。」（エフェソ4:13）

この約束にあすかりたいと思いませんか？それでは、私たちが他の何にも優先して求めるべき、「尊く、素晴らしい約束」とは一体何なのでしょうか。

“Great and Precious Promises”  2 Peter 1:3-8

I am of the opinion that often we followers of Christ consider our faith and our Christian walk to be a burden or an obligation, rather than a blessing. We too often fail to see the marvelous promises God has made to us.

Yet, according to 2 Peter 1:3-4, “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.”

Wow! Do you mean to tell me that we can be god-like, that we can participate in the divine nature—even while here on the earth! That is what Peter is telling us, and he tells us the source of such great blessings—our call from Christ, delivered to us by divine power. Paul likewise tells us in Ephesians 3:19 and 4:13 that we “may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God” and may “become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” Who among us does not want to take God up on these promises?

What are some of these “great and precious promises” that we should desire to possess above all else?

恒枝　篤史兄　「恵みの分け前にあずかるように」　

使徒言行録26:1〜18

今日のテーマは、「伝道」あるいは、「宣教」です。私は、かつて「伝道」とか「宣教」とかいう言葉を聞くと、「ノルマ」や「義務感」のようなものを感じて嫌でした。クリスチャンはなぜ伝道しなければならないのか。でも、良く考えてみると、「クリスチャンはなぜ伝道しなければならないのか？」なんていう質問自体、実は「義務感」を表しているんですね。「義務感」からでは伝道はできないのです。内側から動かしていく「原動力」があるはずなんです。その「原動力」とは、いったい何なのでしょうか？今日は、使徒言行録から、パウロを動かした原動力を見ながら、そのことを考えていきたいと思っています。

“May Receive an Inheritance”  Acts 26:1-18

Today’s theme is evangelism. Why do Christians evangelize? I used to hate to hear the words like “evangelism” or “missions” because I felt something like norm or obligation. Why do Christians have to evangelize? But if we think more deeply, such a question like “why do Christians have to evangelize” is actually showing a sense of obligation. We cannot evangelize by a sense of obligation. There should be a driving force from inside out. What is that driving force, then?
