神様は、「強くあれ、雄々しくあれ」と言われました。しかし、私たちは、ただ「強くありなさい」とか「雄々しくありなさい」とか言われるだけでは、プレッシャーが強くなるだけなのではないでしょうか。自分の辛さ、苦しさを抑圧して、何でもできる！とやっていると、いつか疲れてしまう、必ず無理が出て来るのではないでしょうか。それは、「自分の力で頑張っているから」です。神様を信じない。神様の御力を信じない。神様の約束を信じない。自分で勝つことなどできるはずはない。それは、「インポッシブル」なのです。

神様は繰り返して、「強くあれ。雄々しくあれ。恐れてはならない。おののいてはならない。」、とヨシュアに語りました。そして、ヨシュアはモーセの後を継いだ立派な指導者として、約束の地に民を導いていくという大きな働きを成し遂げました。このヨシュアの力の秘訣は、いったい何だったのでしょうか？

“Mission Impossible: The Secrets of True Strength”

Joshua 1:1-9   Atsushi Tsuneki

God said, “be strong and courageous.”  If we are told to just be strong and courageous, we only feel the pressure, don’t we?  If we suppress our struggle and discouragement and keep pressing forward, believing “nothing is impossible,” someday we get tired and weary.  Because we do it by our own strength.  Not believing in God.  Not believing in God’s power.  Not believing in God’s promise.  It is not possible to win by our strength. It is impossible!

God said to Joshua repeatedly, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified.”  And as a leader who succeeded Moses, Joshua achieved a big task of leading people to the Promised Land.  So, what were the secrets of Joshua’s strength?
