夏のサバティカル安息休暇中、タイの修道院で５日間過ごした修養の体験談も交え、「独り静まる」ことの大切さを語ります。「独り静まること」と「孤立」は違います。「独り静まること」と「寂しい」ことも違います。奉仕の働きは、神様とまず独りで時間を過ごすところから始まらなければなりません。神様が働いて、神様が語ることのできるスペースを作る。そこからすべては始まるのです。
Atsushi shares
how crucial it is to have “solitude” through his five-day retreat experience at
the Silent Retreat Center in Thailand during his Sabbatical Break this summer.
Solitude is different from isolation. Solitude is also different from
loneliness. Ministry must start with being alone with God, creating a space in
our lives where God can act and speak.

もしも赦せない思い、罪悪感、恐れ、怒り、苦々しさ、貪欲、自己憐憫、憎しみ、嫉妬などの否定的な感情をずっと持ち続けて、その感情にしばしば浸っているならば、「霊的な束縛」をもたらします。そのような思いの背後にある霊が、私たちの内に足場を築いてしまいます。このような場合、私たちは「解放される」必要があります。
If we hold on to
the negative emotions such as unforgiving heart, guilt feeling, anger,
bitterness, greed, self-pity, depression, hatred, jealousy, and if we often
allow ourselves immerse in that emotion, that brings “spiritual oppression.”
The spirit behind such feelings gets a foothold within us. In such case, we
need to be released.
