エマオに向かう道は、二人の弟子にとって、落胆の道であり、信じる者になるための道でした。イエス様は、私たちがどんな困難や落胆や問題の中にある時も、私たちと共におられます。歩みを共にしてくださいます。そして、主導権を握ってくださり、消えかかっていた火をもう一度赤々と燃え立たせるよう導いてくださいます。
The road to Emmaus for two disciples was
the road of despair as well as the road to become those who truly believe. No
matter what kind of difficulties or discouragement or problems we are facing,
Jesus is with us. He walks beside us. And He takes initiative and leads us to
burn our fire that is almost vanishing.

私たちは、人生の歩みの中で、心の目が開かれ、変えられる経験をすることがあります。そんな時、私たちはしばしば反応的になったり、居心地の悪さや恐れや戸惑いを感じたりすることがあります。パウロも
初め、クリスチャンたちを迫害して、男女かまわず縛り上げ、牢屋にぶち込んでいた。それが神様のために正しいことだと信じていました。人は自分は正しいと思う時、人を裁き、人を責め、失敗してしまうことがあります。これまでの信仰生活、教会生活の中で、目が開かれて、大きく自分の考えや信念を変え、シフトした経験はありますか？自分の考えに固執せず、柔軟であり続ける必要はあると思いますか？
There are times
in our life when our eyes were opened and we are transformed. In such times, we
often become reactive and feel uncomfortable or fear or worries. Paul persecuted
Christians, whether men or women, and took them as prisoners. He believed that
he was doing right thing for God. When we think we are right, we often
tend to judge, accuse others, but are mistaken. Have you experienced a time in
your faith journey where your “eyes were opened,” and your thoughts and
beliefs shifted? Do you think it’s important to be open and flexible rather
than be unmovingly insistent of your position?
