“The Parable
of the Lost Son”

ルカ15章。放蕩息子のたとえ話。この話は、実はイエス様がファリサイ人や律法学者たちにされた三つのたとえ話シリーズです。「失われた羊のたとえ」「失われた銀貨のたとえ」、そしてそのクライマックスにあたるのが、この「失われた息子のたとえ」です。「放蕩息子のたとえ話」というよりは、「二人の失われた息子のたとえ話」と言っていいでしょう。私たちは、弟息子と兄息子の両方の部分を持っています。自分が失われた兄息子となっていることに、どのようにして気づくことができるでしょうか。大切なのは、父なる神様の元へ走って行って、ひざまずいて、謙虚に悔い改めること。そして信仰の父や母へと成長していくことではないでしょうか。
Luke 15. The
Parable of the Prodigal Son: This Story is actually the series of three
parables that Jesus talked to Pharisees and the Teachers of the Law. “The
Parable of the Lost Sheep,” “The Parable of the Lost Coin,” and then the climax
of the series is this “Parable of the Lost Son.” So probably it is better to
call it “The Parable of Two Lost Sons” more than “The Parable of the Prodigal
Son.” We have both parts of younger brother and older brother. How do I know if
I am the lost older brother? The key is for me to just run, kneel before the
Father, and humbly repent. And to press on to grow into being fathers and
mothers of the faith.

私たちは、苦しみを分かち合う共同体として召されています。しかし一人で苦しむ必要はありません。慰めを豊かに与えてくださる神様が、共におられます。神様は、まず私たちが慰めを経験し、今度は私たちを通して、多くの人々を慰めたいと願っておられます。苦しみと慰めは、神様の計画の中で共に働いて、私たちを霊的な成熟へ導き、自分自身の力や能力ではなく、神様に依り頼むことを学ぶように導いてくれます。最後に、苦しみを通して、教会の賛美と祈りの生活が強められます。
We are called to
be a fellowship of suffering. But we need not suffer alone. The God of all
comfort is with us. We suffer, knowing that God allows our suffering so that we
are able to enter into others’ suffering and offer comfort. Our suffering and
comfort go together in God’s plan to bring us all to spiritual maturity, so
that we can learn what it means to depend on him and not our own strength and
resources. Lastly, God allows our suffering so that the praise and prayer life
of the church can be increased and strengthened.

Disciple Whom Jesus Loved”

ヨハネは、ヨハネの福音書の中で、何度も、自分のことを「イエスの愛しておられた弟子」というふうに呼びました。「私自身が愛されていた」というのは、少しあつかましいように聞こえるかもしれませんが、彼自身のアイデンティティでした。私たちも、「自分は愛されている」と言っているヨハネのように堂々と言うことができるようになるまで、主によって変えられていきたいと思います。
John called himself as “the disciple whom Jesus loved” over and
over again in the Gospel of John. The words “I myself was loved” sound a little
bit like he had a tough skin… but it was his identity!
Like
John, we’d like to be transformed by the Lord until we can boldly say “I am
loved.”
