東方の博士たちは、長い距離も惜しまず、多くのお金をかけてまでして、出て行きました。なぜそこまでして出て行ったのでしょうか。イエス様と両親と会ったとき、彼らは何をしたでしょうか。ひれ伏して礼拝した後、彼らはどんなことをしたでしょうか。三つの贈り物には、どんな意味があったのでしょうか。私たちは、博士たちから何を学ぶことができるでしょうか。
The Wise Men
spent a great deal of resources and travelled a great distance and great
personal peril to set off. Why would they bother? Why go to all the trouble?
What did they do when they met Jesus and his parents? After bowing down and
worshipped, what did they do? What were the meanings of three gifts? What can
we learn from these Wise Men?

Why do
many people harm themselves? Why do many people use themselves for dirty
things? When we follow Jesus Christ and get baptized, we become the children of
God and are marked with a seal of the Holy Spirit. If we understand that Truth
and truly become aware of our own worth, how are we changed?

皆さんは、人生の究極の問いを尋ねたことがあるでしょうか。自分は何者なのか？ 自分の人生の目的は何なのか？自分の存在意義は何なのか？
「自分が何者なのか分からない」、というアイデンティティの危機は、何も10代、20代の青年期の若者だけが陥ることではありません。人生においていつでも起こり得ます。特に、変化の時には誰にでも起こりうる危機です。変化の時というのは、私たちが拠り所にしていたコアの部分が揺さぶられて感じるからです。愛する家族を失った時、大切な友だちを亡くした時、受験に落ちた時、仕事を辞めた時、定年退職した時、年をとって今までできていたことができなくなってしまった時、夢が破れてしまった時。そんな時、自分が何者なのかわからなくなる。何をしたらいいのかわからなくなってしまう・・・。私たちはこのような、自分の存在意義が揺らいでしまうような時、どうすればいいのでしょうか。
今日の聖書箇所で、悪魔は、３つの強力な誘惑をもってイエス様のもとへやって来ます。どれも「お前が神の子なら・・・」と、イエス様の土台になる部分を揺さぶるようなやり方でやって来ました。悪魔は、今日を生きる私たちをも惑わせるため、同じような誘惑をしかけて来ます。けれども聖書は有難いことに、私たちが選ぶことのできる道も同時に示してくれています。「自分が神様の御前にあって何者なのか」、という土台の上に、しっかりと立って生きることができるということを教えてくれています。私たちの土台を揺るがす、三つの誘惑から学んでみたいと思います。
Have
you ever asked these ultimate questions? Who am I? What is my purpose on earth?
Do
only teens go through this identity crisis? No! An identity crisis may occur at any
time of life, or to anybody especially in times of transition.
Transition causes us to feel shaken to the core. It can be the loss of a family
member or the loss of friendship, failure in exams, loss of a role we once had,
or the loss of a dream. How can we handle when our core identity is threatened?
In
today’s passages, The devil came to Jesus with three powerful temptations, all
hitting at Jesus’ understanding of his identity, asking “If you are the Son of
God…” The devil throws the same temptations at us today. But the passage also shows us the choices we can make,
to remain faithful to our unique life and identity that God gave. So let’s look
at these three temptations & identity trap today.
