神様は約束の地を与えると約束され、ヨシュアを指導者として選ばれました。ヨシュアの目的は、その召しにふさわしく生きるということでした。ヨシュアは、恐れではなく、勇気をもって、神様からの召しを中心に、自分の人生を築こうと決断したのです。私たちも、よく従い、よく導き、人生のよい終わり方をするように召されています。
God
has promised to deliver the people to the Promised Land and had chosen Joshua
as a leader. Joshua’s goal was to live out his calling. Joshua led not from
fear but from courage. He decided to order his life around the Calling of God
on him. We are also called to follow well, lead well, and finish well.

ヨルダン川は、私たちの目の前に広がっているかもしれません。困難はあまりに大きく思われるかもしれません。そんな時こそ、私たちに先立ち、導いておられる神様から目を離さず、すべての罪をかなぐり捨てて、主のために自分自身を聖別し、主が主の業をなされようとされるときに、前に進む準備をして、私たちの手に負えないように感じるときでさえも、すべては主の御手の中にあるということを覚えていられますように。
A Jordan stretches right in front of us; the challenges are too much for
us. We must focus our souls on God who is going ahead of us and follow Him. We
must cast out all sin and set ourselves apart to Him. And we must be ready to
move when He does His work, always being mindful that he is in control even
when we feel it is out of our control.
