人が神の国に生まれるのは、神様の働きです。神様が生んでいるのです。神様がお望みになって、子供を宿し、神様がお望みになって、しかるべきときに産むのです。バプテスマは、その意味では、神の御業が目に見えるしるしであって、私たちはそこに励まされるのです。
It is God's work
that we are born in the Kingdom of God. God gives birth. God wishes, desires,
conceives, and gives birth at the timing when it is supposed to be. Baptism is,
in a sense, a visible sign of God's work, and we are encouraged because of

Fear in Love”
1 John 4:16-21

悪魔は、人を恐れに駆り立てます。しかし、本物の愛は、恐れを締め出して、恐れないようにしてくれます。私たちは、神の愛がわからないから、あるいはわからないときに、寂しいし、恐いし、苦しいし、孤独に感じるのです。人間の愛は脆いものです。そんな脆い愛しか持つことができないとき、私たちは簡単に絶望感で打ちひしがれてしまいます。私たちは神様に愛されています。そして今度は、この世界に、その愛を目に見える形で現していくようにと召されているのです。
Satan drives fear
into us, whereas true love drives out fears to make us fearless. Because we
don't understand love of God or when we don't recognize love of God, we feel
lonely, we are scared, we suffer, and we feel isolated. There is no human love
that is not broken somewhere. And when our broken love is the only love we can
have, we are easily thrown into despair. We are infinitely loved by God and
called to make that love visible in this world.
